Your dog is, without a doubt, the cutest dog I have ever seen in my life, and I will spend the entire appointment making sure they know it. Whether they're older and just need to be comfortable, or they're a puppy and learning how to be groomed, creating a pleasant environment and a positive experience is so important for your dog.
Every dog can enjoy a carefully curated space with their needs in mind. They will receive 100% of my attention from the moment they walk in the door.
Okay, that might be the slogan for The Olive Garden, but it can still be true of Hey Gorgeous Grooming. When your dog is here, you can be assured that they're being treated as if they're my own dog.
After moving to California from Wisconsin in 2020, I started working for a mobile salon. I quickly learned that the businesses focus was on the quantity of appointments, not the dogs wellbeing. I work slowly and carefully with your dog to make sure they are comfortable and give them a break if they need it, which I wasn't able to do while working mobile. I firmly believe that our energy and emotions can influence dogs and their energy. To help dogs remain calm, I communicate with a calm, confident energy and a gentle touch, and giving your dog one-on-one attention helps create a positive experience where your puppy is comfortable and can thrive.
I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember! I grew up with a house full of dogs, from pugs to mastiffs to spaniels. I currently have a very good Brittany Spaniel named Godiva. In 2016, I took a job at a PetSmart as a dog bather. After a few months, I went to Grooming School and learned under a certified Master Groomer for over a year.
At Hey Gorgeous Grooming, we put humanity before vanity. What exactly does this mean? This means that I won't spend hours brushing out a matted dog. It means that if your dog is extremely stressed out by the grooming experience, I'm not going to push them. And it means that I genuinely care about your dog and their wellbeing.
I will take every step possible to ensure that your pet has a pleasant and positive grooming experience. This means that I will not be putting your dog into an uncomfortable and dangerous position for the sake of finishing a haircut. Sometimes that means that the haircut is incomplete or maybe a little choppy, or maybe they have to be shaved due to matting. Whatever the decision is, I can personally guarantee that it was made with a caring heart.
