The canine experience is so incredibly important to the grooming process. Unfortunately, every salon I've worked at prioritized the quantity of appointments over the quality of service. That's why, after 6 years of working for other people, I decided to open my own salon. I'm able to build a relationship with your dog that's based on trust and respect, which provides an enjoyable experience for everyone.
I firmly believe that our energy and emotions can influence dogs and their energy. To help dogs become comfortable, I communicate with them using a calm, confident energy, and a gentle touch. I work one-on-one, which helps create a calm, positive experience where your puppy is comfortable and can thrive.
At Hey Gorgeous Grooming, we put humanity before vanity. What exactly does this mean? This means that I won't spend hours brushing out a matted dog. It means that if your dog is extremely stressed out by the grooming experience, I'm not going to push them. And it means that I genuinely care about your dog and their wellbeing.
I will take every step possible to ensure that your pet has a pleasant and positive grooming experience. This means that I will not be putting your dog into an uncomfortable and dangerous position for the sake of finishing a haircut. Sometimes that means that the haircut is incomplete or maybe a little choppy, or maybe they have to be shaved due to matting. Whatever the decision is, I can personally guarantee that it was made with a caring heart.
In February 2016, I started working at PetSmart as a bather. By June, I was enrolled in the PetSmart Grooming Academy, and within a year of enrolling, I had completed my training.
In spring 2018, I finished college in Minneapolis and moved home to Green Bay. I had officially fallen in love with dog grooming after taking a temporary job in college, and was working full time as a dog groomer!
In December 2020, Ben and I moved across the country to be closer to his family in Orange County. I had stopped grooming during the pandemic and was working remotely as an editor for a closed captioning company.
Early January 2021, I got the itch to start grooming again after over 2 years out of the industry. I really missed it, so I started looking for the best place to work. I first started at a mobile grooming company, then transitioned to private salons in San Clemente, then Ladera Ranch.
After grooming at 3 salons over a year and a half, I figured out that the best way to work in a salon that shared my values was to start my own business. So I opened Hey Gorgeous Grooming and have had a great time getting to know all of my wonderful clients. I am so incredibly grateful to have such amazing clients that I look forward to seeing every day.
